Diptyken For your eyes only, Ingvild har flera lager. Som visuellt och fysiskt objekt, där Olof Nimar arbetat fram samtliga delar i verket, från ramarna i askträ, kompositionen och förhållandet mellan de beskurna fotografierna och den vita ytan, och bildernas förhållande till varandra. Verket är del av en större serie där varje verk har samma dimensioner som de fönster som fanns på ateljékollektivet Flöjeln på Nobelvägen i Malmö. En morgon när de som arbetade på Flöjeln kom till sina ateljéer var fönstren helt täckta av graffiti. For your eyes only består av Nimars fotografier av dessa fönster, tagna inifrån huset, ateljé för ateljé. Genom dokumentation och bearbetning träder den måleriska dimensionen i graffiti fram. Fotografiska och måleriska traditioner och förväntningar på dessa blandas och bryts upp genom serien.
For your eyes only talar också om konstnärers villkor idag, om hur tillfälliga kontrakt eller rivningskontrakt är vardag för många. Huset på Nobelvägen 125 där Flöjeln med sina tjugofem ateljéer låg är nu rivet. I kvarteret ska staden istället bygga bostäder, skolor och sportcenter.
Olof Nimar är född 1985, utbildad vid Malmö Konsthögskola och verksam i Malmö.

The diptych For Your Eyes Only, Ingvild has several different layers. It is a visual and physical object in which Olof Nimar has fabricated every part of the work, from the ash frame to the composition, the relationship between the cropped photographs and the surrounding white space, and the pictures’ relationships to one another. The work is part of a larger series in which each piece has the same dimensions as the windows in the studio he had in the Flöjen collective on Nobelvägen in Malmö. One morning when the artists who worked there got to their studios, the windows were covered in graffiti. For Your Eyes Only consists of Nimar’s photographs of these windows taken from inside the building, one studio at a time. This documentation and his reworking of it bring out the painterly dimension of graffiti. Photographic and painterly traditions and our expectations of them blend together and break apart throughout the series.
For Your Eyes Only also speaks to the conditions of the artist today, to the fact that many are relegated to studios with temporary leases or in buildings slated for demolition. The building at Nobelvägen 125, where Flöjen had its twenty-five studio spaces, has since been demolished. It stood in a district that is planned for development with new housing, schools and a recreation centre.
Olof Nimar was born in 1985 and educated at the Art Academy in Malmö, where he now lives and works.
